Eric Clapton’s 461 Ocean Boulevard

February 20, 2009

461 Ocean BoulevardI’ve fallen head over heels for Eric Clapton’s album 461 Ocean Boulevard. He had kicked his heroin addiction, was in love with model/photographer/muse Pattie Boyd and had just embarked on a solo career when he did this record. While his guitar skills rock like they always do, there’s more room for his vocals and those tender melodies that I’m eternally a sucker for.

I love this video that some guy made for “Please Be With Me.” It’s just as calm, gentle and simple as the song. Hopefully my search for this on vinyl will be all those things as well.
